Inside the Velocity Intake System
The Pipercross VIS or Velocity Intake System, is a carbon fibre air intake designed to maximise the torque produced by your engine, the natural extension of this being an increase in horsepower. By relocating the air filter away from the heat of the engine, the supply of cooler, dense air gives a reliable increase in power.
Each VIS utilises a Pipercross Vector power cone with a unique foam construction, using the same technology as our air filter for Formula 1 and the World Rally Championship. Maximum air flow with the ultimate engine protection.
The tuned design of the VIS gives a broader, usable power band with superior airflow when compared to the standard airbox and a specially textured inlet surface offers a much better throttle response. On popular turbo engines this can result in a signification reduction in turbo lag.
The section of pipework is made from aerospace quality pre-impregnated carbon fibre, that incorporates a proprietary thermal barrier layer in its construction. The use of various fibre composites is geared specifically towards keeping the inside of the intake tract as cool as possible.
